What is Pilates Movement Therapy?
Created by Joseph Pilates in the first half of the 20th century, Pilates is a method of exercise to maintain strength, flexibility and balance.
Pilates Movement Therapy is a variation of the traditional method, focusing on using the 6 Pilates principles of concentration, control, centre flow, precision and breath.
This gentle yet effective style of Pilates, uses these 6 principles to improve joint function, reduce pain, heal from injury, improve pelvic floor strength, flexibility and balance. It's all about making your body feel good, move better while improving your dance technique!

Meet your instructor
Prue discovered the Pilates method when she was studying for her Diploma of Dance Teaching. Suffering from general lower back pain, Prue was astounded at how practising the method removed the pain and improved her dance technique, especially transitions between steps.
Prue went on to study a Diploma of Pilates Movement Therapy and has helped many people manage chronic pain, heal from injury and improve joint and muscle function.
Now, Prue is delighted to help Bellydancers to manage and prevent injuries, reduce pain and improve dance technique!
